Harry J. Petchesky is a member of the Bar of New York, the United States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the Second Circuit of the Court of Appeals. He is a graduate of Cornell University and Columbia University Law School. Mr. Petchesky has a broad range of experience in corporate, securities, real estate, executive employment contracts, trusts and estates, family law, and trial and appellate litigation in all of the above areas. He has participated in short- to long-term business planning, institutional financing, private and public offerings of securities, acquisitions and sales of businesses, purchase, sale and development of office and apartment buildings, cooperative and condominium plans, and commercial and shopping center leases. He has represented clients in regulatory investigations, and has acted as an Arbitrator at the American Stock Exchange.
In addition to his professional activities, Mr. Petchesky has served on the Board of Trustees of Poly Prep Country Day School, of which he was Board Chair for the period 1990-1998; as a Life Member of the Cornell Council with service from 1980; on the Board of Governors of The Harmonie Club and on the Boards of Directors of the Manhattan Theatre Club, JBI International, and the Jewish Guild For The Blind.
In his most recent litigation, Mr. Petchesky completed a 28-day jury trial of a real estate fraud case concerning ownership of an apartment building on the East side of Manhattan. As a result, the owner-plaintiff acquired 100% ownership. Mr. Petchesky successfully argued an appeal in the Appellate Division, First Department in an issue related to the litigation.
